Dr. Tseng is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and cataracts. He is skilled in glaucoma laser and incisional surgical therapies. He also performs cataract surgery using the latest technology, such as femtosecond laser and multifocal intraocular lenses for multifocal vision correction.

Dr. Tseng is also a neuroscience, laboratory-trained clinician-scientist dedicated to both clinical and cutting-edge research into vision loss in glaucoma. The ulti­mate research goal is to develop novel therapies and techniques for earlier detection of glaucoma and neurodegeneration. Dr. Tseng's research investigates molecular and cellular functions of optineurin, which is a gene associated with glaucoma, brain neurodegeneration, and Paget's disease of the bone. He is uncovering common disease mechanisms that leads to cell death in the eye, brain, and bone. Since the bone marrow is the primary source of stem cells, this work will reveal new insights into the development of regenerative and pharmacological therapies.
