My projects focus on conotoxins and spider toxins, active peptides extracted from cone snails and spider venom. These peptides have been involved in the modulation of a number of neurological disorders and pain sensing in humans. Conjugating spider toxins and conotoxins together create promising novel drug leads that are potent without side effects for the pain treatment, as well as pharmacological tools to dissect these neurological and pain-related disorders.
