Ismael Diez Perez received the M.Sci. degree and the Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Barcelona in 2001 and 2006, respectively, in the study of nanoscale semiconductor/electrolyte interfaces. He then moved to Arizona State University to train on single-molecule electronics in the group of Nongjian Tao. In 2011, he got an Associate Professorship with the University of Barcelona, where he started his pioneering research on biomolecular electronics, disentangling charge transport mechanisms in electron transfer proteins. He is currently a Professor of Physical Chemistry with King’s College London.
