Main goal of my research is to investigate human natural defense system and reveal its regulatory mechanism. We are trying to understand modulation of mucus production, innate immunity, and inflammatory reaction in airway mucosa. Genes/proteins, which are related to control innate immune mechanisms in various disease models such as allergic rhinitis model, allergic asthma model, and infection models, are also our major research interest. Based on these results, we hope to secure the core knowledge about human natural defense system and to provide useful knowledge for human diseases.
