As a young couple, they shared an adventurous spirit to explore the world. And that they did. Jan's research led him to exotic locations such as Vulcano, Papua New Guinea, Iceland, and Antarctica. The biggest adventure was starting a family together in St. Louis. As a professor at Washington University, Jan, Andrea, Emma, and Finn embraced their life in the Midwest. Living close to the beach in California allowed their love for the outdoors to flourish, and Emma & Finn finished high school in Palos Verdes.
