Bio
Juan P. Pascual (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Santander, Spain, in 1968. He received the M.Sc. degree (Hons.) in physics (specializing in electronics) and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the University of Cantabria, Santander, in 1990 and 1996, respectively.
He is currently an Associate Professor with the Communications Engineering Department, University of Cantabria, teaching analog and digital signal processing, RF and microwave design, monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) technologies, and telecommunications infrastructures. He has been involved in modeling and design projects with institutions like Alcatel Espacio, Tres Cantos, Madrid, Spain; OMMIC, Limeil Brevannes, France; ESA, ESTEC Noordwijk, The Netherlands; Technical University of Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany (where he stayed during 1999), the PLANCK, the QUIJOTE Mission, and the “Terahertz Technology for Electromagnetic Sensing Applications” (TERASENSE) Consortiums. He has participated in the Spanish Network of Excellence in Terahertz and has been responsible for a training program of Doctors for the industry (University of Cantabria-Erzia Tech., Santander). He has coauthored more than 80 contributions in journals and congress. His research interests are active device modeling, MMIC design methodologies of nonlinear functions and subsystems, from microwaves to millimeter waves and sensors in the THz bands, particularly for W band imaging systems and complex system simulation.
