Julian Marco Barbosa Shorto

My background is in Experimental Nuclear physics and Nuclear Reactions at Low Energies. During my PhD, received from São Paulo University (USP), I was making use of Coupled Channel Calculations and Experimental Quasielastic Barrier Distributions to shed some light upon reaction mechanisms on intermediate mass nuclei. Later, during a postdoc at Federal Fluminense University (UFF), I worked in a technique to compare nuclear systems of different sizes using total reaction cross sections. I also did some work with weakly bound systems and exotic nuclei. Currently, besides Nuclear Physics, my research interests comprise Radiation Shielding and Dosimetry, Computational Radiation Transport and Nuclear Reactor Physics.
