Jaime Modiano received the Ph.D. degree (completed his veterinary training) from the Immunology University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA, followed by a residency with the Veterinary Clinical Pathology, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, USA, and a postdoctoral fellowship with the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, Denver, CO, USA. He holds the Alvin and June Perlman Endowed Chair of Animal Oncology and is the Director of the Animal Cancer Care and Research Program, College of Veterinary Medicine and the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA. The research emphasis in his laboratory is to understand how and why cancer happens and to translate basic research into clinical applications that improve the health and wellbeing of companion animals and humans.
