I obtained my PhD in Spatial Statistics from Lancaster University under Dr. Jonathan Read, Prof Peter Diggle, and Dr. Diane Terlouw in 2018. I am currently working as a biostatistician at the Malawi-Liverpool Wellcome-Trust Clinical Research Programme in Blantyre, Malawi. My main research interest is in the application of spatial statistical models to infectious diseases. Specifically, I am interested in developing models to characterize the transmission potential of diseases such as malaria and influenza. I am also interested in understanding how human mobility contributes to heterogeneity in disease transmission and how to model mobility patterns using spatial interaction models and also in understanding and modelling the interaction between climate and health
