J. B. A. Mitchell

James Brian A. Mitchell received the Ph.D. degree in physics from Queens's University, Belfast, U.K., in 1975. He was a Researcher with the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY, USA, and Professor with the University of Western Ontario, London, ON, Canada. He was a Professor with Université de Rennes I, Rennes, France, in 1996. He is a Consultant in the automotive and petroleum sectors. He is the co-author of a textbook Atomic Collisions and has published 124 articles and six book chapters. His current research interests include plasma physics, combustion, and the study of fundamental reactions. Dr. Mitchell was named Innocentive Solver of the Year for 2007.
