James R Barborak

Jim Barborak is Co-Director of the Center for Protected Area Management at Colorado State. He organizes and teaches in training courses for conservationist practitioners. Previously he worked four years for Conservation International as director of their Mesoamerican protected area program, and before that 15 years with the Wildlife Conservation Society. His B.S. and M.S. are from Ohio State; he also studied at the Yale School of Forestry. His areas of interest include conservation training, planning, management, finance and governance; landscape-level conservation; sustainable tourism; and wildlife conservation and management. He has more than 40 years’ experience in over 25 countries.
