Bio
James R. Webster (M'00) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, in 1992 and 1998, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 2005.
He is currently a Staff Engineer with the Mirasol Display Group, MEMS Research and Innovation Center, Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, San Jose, CA. He has previously worked at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and was a MESA Fellow with Sandia National Laboratories. His past research activities included battlefield real-time data communications, electronics packaging reliability, and MEMS device reliability. His current research interests are focused on systems development in support of the innovative Mirasol MEMS display technology.
Dr. Webster is a member of the International Society for Optical Engineers (SPIE), Materials Research Society, and Eta Kappa Nu.
