Janet M. Anstee

Janet Anstee is the Research Group Leader of the Aquatic Ecosystems Processes in CSIRO Environment. She was formerly the Team Leader of the Aquatic Remote Sensing Team in CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. Her current research is in the application of validated bio-optical models to enable improved discrimination of aquatic water quality and habitat (where optically shallow). Additionally, she works with computer scientists and engineers to deliver underwater, proximal and remote optical sensing systems and solutions in Australia but with a global applicability. She has had more than 25 years of experience in Aquatic Remote Sensing working with Government Departments, Authorities and SME’s. She is the author of 12 journal articles, 6 book chapters, more than 20 reports and over 50 conference papers. She is currently serves on the Editorial board of the Journal Ecological Informatics (Elsevier) and is a member of the Australian Marine Science Association (AMSA).
