My research group deals with „biodegradable und bioactive orthopedic implants“ for tendon and bone diseases.Used methods are in vitro test systems for the evaluation of degradation kinetics or cell-culture experiments to estimate cytotoxicity, biomechanical testing procedures like tensile, bending and cyclic testing and a variety of different specific animal models. Current focus lies on magnesium based materials, osteoarthritis and implants for chronic tendon rupture and implant infection.
