Javier Alda received the degree in science from the Faculty of Science, University of Zaragoza, Zaragoza, Spain, in 1985, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University Complutense of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1988. Since 2010, he has been a Full Professor in optics. He is currently the Director of Applied Optics Complutense Group. His research interests include the design and analysis of resonant subwavelength structures and their integration with energy harvesting systems, optical sensors, diffractive optics design, and the application of optical engineering solutions to the industry.
