Jian Wu

Jian Wu (M'04) received the B.Sc. degree in physics from Fuyang Normal College, Fuyang, China, in 1983, the M.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from China Research Institute of Radiowave Propagation (CRIRP), Xinxiang, in 1986, and the Ph.D. degree in plasma physics from Université Paris VI, Paris, France, in 1990, respectively. He is currently a Professor of the National Key Laboratory of Electromagnetic Environment (LEME), CRIRP, Beijing, China. Since 1998, he has served as the Director of LEME and since 2003, he has also served as the Deputy Director General of the CRIRP. His research interests mainly include: ionospheric physics and radio propagation, electromagnetic waves in random media, ionospheric sounding techniques and dusty plasmas. Dr. Wu is an official member of Commission G of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). He is also a Fellow of Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) and a member of the Space Physics Committee of the China Society of Space Research (CSSR), both in China.
