Jian-Zhang Chen (Member, IEEE) was born in 1973 in Taipei, Taiwan. He received the bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the master’s degree from the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering in 1998, both at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1996 and 1998, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA, in 2006. He joined the faculty of the Graduate Institute of Applied Mechanics, National Taiwan University, in 2007, and was promoted to the position of Full Professor in 2016. His current research interests are atmospheric pressure and low-pressure plasma materials processing technology, flexible electronics, supercapacitors, batteries, hydrogen technology, etc.
