Joëlle V. Fritz

Dr. Joëlle Fritz received her PhD from the University of Strasbourg, where she studied the assembly process of HIV-1 viral particles within human host cells. After having graduated, she continued her research focus at the Medical University of Heidelberg where she focused on the interplay of HIV-1 Vpu protein with the human innate immune system. In 2012, Dr. Fritz returned to her home country, Luxembourg, where she worked on infectious pathogens (HIV-1, Salmonella) at the LCSB. In 2017, Dr. Fritz started to work as Project Manager for Integrated Care Networks (ParkinsonNet and Programme Démence Prévention) within the Research group of Prof Rejko Krüger, where she worked on bringing research closer to the patient. Currently, Dr. Fritz is working as a Research and Strategy Specialist at the Transversal Translational Medicine (TTM) of the LIH. TTM aims at enhancing the ability of biomedical stakeholder institutions to work translationally, fostering national and international bed-to-bench-to-bed collaborations and thereby acting as a bridge between fundamental research and clinical practice.
