Joseph Francis

Joseph Francis received his bachelor of veterinary medicine in animal husbandry and master's in veterinary virology and immunology from Madras Veterinary College, Madras, India, in 1991 and 1994, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in neuroendocrinology from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, in 1999. After completion of his doctoral research, he joined Robert Felder's laboratory at the University of Iowa, for a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular pathophysiology. He joined the faculty of Louisiana State University as an assistant professor in 2003. Currently, he is an associate professor in Comparative Biomedical Sciences Department at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His research interests include understanding the role played by central nervous system cytokines in the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases.
