Joseph I. Minow

Joseph I. Minow (M'06) received the B.A. degree in chemistry and biology from Western State College of Colorado, Gunnison, in 1981, the M.S. degree in physics from the University of Denver, Denver, CO, in 1987, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, in 1997. From 1999 to 2004, he was with Sverdrup Technology (now Jacobs Engineering), Huntsville, AL, as the Environments Group Supervisor. Since 2004, he has been an Aerospace Engineer with NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, where he currently serves as the Lead for Natural Environments Branch activities related to ionizing radiation and space plasma environments. His current professional activities include characterizing space environments and their effects on space systems, modeling space radiation and plasma environments using measurements from research and operational spacecraft, characterizing relevant test and design activities, space systems operations support, and resolution of on-orbit anomalies. Dr. Minow is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the American Geophysical Union and currently serves as an Associate Editor for the AIAA Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets.
