My research mainly focuses on cyber security and applying various cryptographic technologies into real world systems. They include, but not limited to,
Blockchain: security, privacy, cryptocurrency
Cloud Security: cloud data protection, privacy in cloud, cloud access control
Big Data Security: searchable encryption, database security
Lightweight Security: cryptographic algorithms for lightweight device
Applied Cryptography: public key cryptography, identity-based cryptography, digital signature, attribute-based system, anonymous signature (e.g. group signature, ring signature) etc.

Research Highlight
I am the founder for the notion of Linkable Ring Signature, which was published in ACISP 2004. It is now deployed in the core of RingCT, a privacy-preserving algorithm in Monero, one of the largest privacy-preserving blockchain-based cryptocurrency!
