My research focuses on how animals use information in their daily decisions and how this can be studied from bio-logging and especially GPS data. For my PhD I investigated the information seabirds can use to search and find prey at sea, and the potential implications regarding their attraction to fishing boats. In the OxNav group at Oxford University, I studied navigation, learning, and collective behaviour, in homing pigeons. At NMU I will apply my skills to a long-term dataset on gannets.
