Junghoon Lee received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea, in 1989 and 1991, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the MEMS Graduate Program at the University of California at Los Angeles, Los Angeles, in 1996. From 1991 to 1996, he was with the Agency for Defense Development, South Korea, as a Research Engineer. After receiving the Ph.D. degree, he joined the Faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA, in 2000. In 2004, he joined the Faculty of SNU, where he is currently a Professor with the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Interdisciplinary Program of Bioengineering, and the Department of Nano Science and Technology. His research is highly interdisciplinary, covering broad spectrum of science and technology in MEMS, nanotechnology-biology interaction, and interphase mechanics.
