Pedrotti, K.

Kenneth D. Pedrotti received the B.S. degree in engineering physics and the M.S. degree in quantum electronics from the University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, in 1978 and 1979, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, in 1985. From 1985 to 1997, he was with the Rockwell Science Center, where his research activities there included the development of integrated optoelectronic devices and circuits, high speed circuit development using AlGaAs-GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistors, systems research for WDM optical networks, optical modulators, quantum well lasers, vertical cavity surface emitting lasers, and MOCVD crystal growth. From 1997 to 1998, he was with Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, Newbury Park, CA, USA, involving in integrated circuits for optical communications. From 1998 to 2000, he was with the Rockwell Science Center, Thousand Oaks, CA, USA, involving in mixed-signal VLSI for visible and IR imaging. He is currently a Professor of electrical engineering with the University of California at Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz. He has authored over 80 publications. He holds 11 patents. His interests include devices and circuits for optical communication networks, RF, biomedical applications, energy scavenging, and imaging.
