Kristopher Innanen received the Ph.D. degree in geophysics from The University of British Columbia, Kelowna, BC, Canada, in 2003. In 2005, he became an Assistant Professor of physics at the University of Houston, Houston, TX, USA. In 2009, he joined the CREWES Project at the University of Calgary, Calgary, AB, Canada, where he became the Director of the project in 2016. He is currently a Professor of geophysics with the University of Calgary, where he is also the Associate Dean of Research at the Faculty of Science. His research interests are wave theory-guided data science/machine learning, fiber-optic (DAS) seismic sensing and acquisition, multiple prediction and removal, seismic full waveform inversion in the reservoirs, seismic AVO/AVAz, impedance inversion, full-wave methods, and quantum computing. Dr. Innanen is also the Chair of the SEAM Board of Directors for the Society of Exploration Geophysics and an Associate Editor of the journal Geophysics.
