My main research interests centre around the role of general practice in the management of chronic and complex conditions, and how best to integrate general practice and specialist care. Most of my research has been in the fields of palliative care in primary care. In addition I lead a research group which has become world leaders in the study of n-of-1 trials - trials that assess whether a particular treatment works in a particular individual. Further, we are conducting evaluations of various health Service initiatives in the Ipswich and West Moreton area.
