Professor Kyung-Hyun Cho’s main areas of expertise in lipoprotein metabolism including structure and functions of lipoproteins including low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL). HDL is a strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-senescence agent in blood. HDL-cholesterol is inversely correlated with incidence of atherosclerosis, metabolic syndrome, and dementia (Alzheimer’s disease and vascular demetia).
