Suresh, L. M. currently works as Maize Pathology Lead- Sub Saharan Africa and Manager MLN Screening facility at the Global Maize Program, International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center. Suresh, does research in Agricultural Plant Science, Agronomy and Horticulture. Their current project Tackling Maize MLN in eastern Africa through several approaches including resistance breeding and Developing Seed treatment to eliminate MLN viruses from Maize Seeds. One of the accomplishment from the project is to prevent the spread of MLN in eastern africa and prevent the movement from eastern africa to Southern Africa with the support of various partners and collaborators using multi-pronged, multi desciplined approach from various nations in Sub Saharan Africa.
