He has won the Outstanding Young Agricultural Engineer of Texas Chapter of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE), USA (1994), Lifetime Achievement Award in Agricultural Engineering of Texas Chapter of the Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (2012), Overseas Chinese in Agricultural Biology and Foods Lifetime Achievement Award (2013) and Distinguished Contribution Award (2014), Distinguished Service Award of the Institute of Engineers and United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service Agency Agricultural Aviation Technology Center(2014) among other honors. While working for the USDA (2005-2014), he received the Distinguished Contribution Award of USDA Southern Plains Research Center in consecutive years, and in 2015 received the CEAA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Agricultural Aviation, and in 2016 received the Scientific Chinese Person of the Year Award( (2015). He is currently serving as the deputy editor of Trans. of the ASABE and Applied Engineering in Agriculture, and the Editorial Board Member of Engineering in Agriculture.
