Dr. Anderson specializes in plasma cell cancers and cellular therapy (both CAR T and stem cell transplant). He cares for patients with a spectrum of plasma cell diseases, including Multiple Myeloma, Waldenström's macroglobulinemia and Amyloidosis. Initially he was also doing lab research on T cell immunotherapy of myeloma in addition to his clinical effort seeing patients but then decided that patient care and clinical trials should be his focus since 2012. Dr. Anderson serves as the local and regional expert (and now national) in this specialty for all phases of therapy for these disorders. He has a highly active cellular therapy clinic for these patients and also attends on the UTSW inpatient myeloma/lymphoma/CAR-T/transplant service, where he supervises care of myeloma and lymphoma patients. He is the local PI for ~10 active clinical trials for plasma cell disorders with a portfolio of trials spanning the plasma cell disorder spectrum and including all phases. Dr. Anderson enjoys working with his clinical team to provide the highest level of state of the art yet personalized and compassionate care for patients with plasma cell disorders
