Laura G. Brown

Laura E. Brown received the B.S. degree from Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA, USA, in 1996, the M.S.E. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA, in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Since 2009, she has been an Assistant Professor with Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI. Her broad research interests are in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data mining. Projects are aimed at both theoretical topics in these areas, e.g., methods for feature selection and algorithms for learning Bayesian networks, as well as the application of techniques to other domains, including clinical medicine, biology, computer systems, electrical power systems, and microgrids.
