Bio
Loree C. Heller (M'11) received the Ph.D. degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of South Florida Health Sciences Center, Tampa, in 1993.
She received an American Heart Association postdoctoral fellowship and performed her postdoctoral work in the Department of Biology at the University of South Florida. She is a licensed Technologist with the American Society for Clinical Pathology in Medical Microbiology and Molecular Pathology. As an Associate Professor at Old Dominion University at the Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics and the School of Medical Laboratory and Radiation Sciences, one of her research areas involves the exploration of both physical and biological alternatives to antibacterial compounds for clinically relevant pathogens. in addition, she studies the in vivo efficacy and nontherapeutic secondary effects of therapeutic molecule delivery using pulsed electric fields.
