Lorena Pochini

Lorena Pochini graduated in Pharmacy at the University of Calabria, Italy in 2000 and here she has received in 2004 her Ph.D. degree in Cellular biochemistry and drug activity in oncology at the Dept. of Pharmaco-Biology. Since 2002 she is member of the Italian Group of Bioenergetic and Biomembranes (G.I.B.B.). During post-doctoral period she has been at the University of Frankfurt to the Inst. fur Microbiologie, Biozentrum where under the guide of Prof. E. Boles has acquired the methods of cloning and expression of human genes in yeast. In 2006 she became senior researcher in Biochemistry at the DiBEST of the University of Calabria. She is member of the Doctorate School of Life Sciences of the University of Calabria and supervisor of the scientific activity of PhD students. She teaches several courses of the Biochemistry area at University of Calabria to Biology and Master students. Research interests: membrane proteins, reconstitution in artificial membranes (liposomes) of membrane proteins solubilized from cellular membranes and over-expressed in bacteria and yeast; functional and kinetics studies.
