个人简介
Dr. Roberson’s current research focuses on water purification and wastewater treatment for space exploration through biological remediation, bioreactors, biofilm prevention, aquaculture towards food production in space, as well as nutrient delivery for plant production. His lab supports ISS operations for wastewater processing and silver water resupply. Luke previously served as the payload developer for VEGGIE and Advanced Plant Habitat (APH) - plant growth chambers for the International Space Station. His previous NASA research focused on advanced composite materials for implementation into systems including energy storage devices, chemochromic hazardous gas sensing materials, organic electronics, and chemical hazmat suits. He has numerous published peer reviewed scientific journal publications and patents. He was awarded the 2016 NASA Invention of the Year Award, the 2014 R&D Magazines Award for the Top 100 Inventions of 2014 and the 2015 Southeastern Federal Lab Technology Transfer Award.
