Mads Kærn is a scientist in the Ottawa Institute of Systems Biology, an associate professor of cellular & molecular medicine, and an associate scientist in the cancer therapeutics program in the Ottawa Health Research Institute. He has authored many highly cited scientific publications and made significant contributions to the emerging disciplines of systems and synthetic biology. With expertise in yeast genomics, genetic engineering, dynamical systems, and computational modelling, his research focuses on complex gene regulatory processes.
