Bio

Our research focus is the characterization of (1,3)-beta-glucan (BDG) titers in various bodily fluids and the association of those titers to pathophysiological contexts. These include the diagnostic and prognostic utility of BDG titers and titer trends. In addition, we are interested in the pathophysiological mechanisms leading to translocation of BDG to the circulation and the CSF, including hypoxia, uremia, inflammation, viral infection, etc.
