My Ph.D. research was on fault diagnosis in complex chemical plants and my post-Ph.D. research has been focused on the applications of process systems engineering for studying complex biochemical processes and pathways. I have published about 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and have made a dozen invited presentations. In 2005, I received the Best Paper Award jointly with my Ph.D. advisor Dr. Venkat Venkatasubramanian and co-advisor Dr. Raghunathan Rengaswamy for our paper published in the journal of Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence in 2004. My current research interests include applications of mathematical and systems engineering approaches to Biomedical Sciences.
