As a board-certified general and gastrointestinal surgeon, DrReymond became in 1999 Consultant surgeon, Head of Colorectal Surgery . From 2005-2011, he was Chief of the Department of Surgery at the Bethel Hospital in Bielefeld, one of the largest charity academic hospitals in Germany.

In 2012, he moved to the Ruhr-University Bochum as Deputy Chairman and Head of Surgical Oncology and setup there a certified Center for therapy of peritoneal diseases. In 2016, Prof. Reymond joined the University of Tübingen as the Director of the National Center for Pleura and Peritoneum (NCPP), the first institute worldwide dedicated to these organs.
