Associate Professor of Computer Science with the Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Italy). My research focuses on the development of novel Computational Intelligence methods (evolutionary computation, swarm intelligence, fuzzy logic, neural networks) applied to complex problems in computational and systems biology. Due to the massive computational requirements of such methods, I also work on the acceleration of algorithms by means of high performance architectures, GPUs in particular.
