Dr. Restrepo acquired board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is a member of both pneumonia guidelines sponsored by the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA). He is the current chair of the Chest Infections Network of CHEST - American College of Chest Physicians. He serves as Associate Editor for European Respiratory Journal and Respirology and a member of the CHEST editorial board.
