Marialuisa Volta

M. Volta received the Laurea degree in Electrical Engineering (Politecnico di Milano) and the Ph.D. degree in Infomation Engineering (University of Brescia), discussing a thesis about non linear modelling for air quality planning. She is with the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (University of Brescia), currently as full professor of Control Systems. She is the coordinator of the PhD program on Energy Transition and Sustainable production Systems - University of Brescia (IT), chair of IFAC Technical Committee on Modeling and Control of Environmental Systems, a member of the WHO Global Air Pollution and Health – Technical Advisory Group (GAPH-TAG). She is a faculty member of the Doctoral Committees in Computer Science, Engineering and Control Systems and in Technology for Health at University of Brescia (2009-2022), a member of Brescia University Research Board (2001-1012). She is a national delegate at UNECE-TFIAM (2006-2012), IFAC TC8.3 vice-chiar from 2015. She coordinates national and EU projects, among them RIAT (JRC) and APPRAISAL (FP7); she is scientific coordinator of the LIFE+ OPERA project (Best Environmental LIFE+ projects Award 2015), unit and WP leader of the QUITSAT project (Italian Space Agency).
