The focus of my research has been on elucidating host-pathogen interactions within a context of aquatic animals. With regard to both host and pathogen, my interests are in understanding the complex interplay of molecular responses that underlie disease and susceptibility. My research aims involve expanding current understanding of physiological disease processes though investigating mechanisms for recognition, signaling, and defensive countering within the vertebrate model of fish.
