I recently joined the University of Utah as Professor in the Division of Epidemiology within the Department of Internal Medicine. I am Research Health Scientist at the VA Salt Lake City Healthcare System and an investigator in the IDEAS Center of Innovation. In my new role, I am directing a program on health services research on genomic and precision medicine. My research program focuses on understanding patient, community, and Veteran engagement in research on genome sequencing and preferences or receiving results from genome sequencing research. In my research, I focus on the gap between what people what to know about their own genome and their access to the health services that would allow them to use genomic information to improve health and well-being.
