Masood Sadiq

Professor Masood Sadiq is the Vice Chancellor, University of Child Health Sciences & Professor and head of Paediatric Cardiology, Children’s Hospital Lahore. Pakistan. He was trained in UK at prestigious institutions, like Hospital for Sick Children, GOS London and Children’s Hospital, Birmingham. He was the first Paediatric Cardiologist in Punjab and established the department of paediatric Cardiology first at Punjab Institute of Cardiology and then at The Children Hospital Lahore, which is the largest paediatric cardiac set-up in the country. He has trained the largest number of paediatric cardiologists in the country. He has been awarded “Medal of Excellence” (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) and “Presidential Gold Medal” by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of his services in the field of Paediatric Cardiology. He has contributed in various professional leadership roles: President Pakistan Paediatric Association Punjab (2018-2020), President, Pakistan Society of Echocardiography (2016-2018), Secretary General, Pakistan Paediatric Cardiology Society (2005 to date), Dean/Convener, Faculty of Paediatric Cardiology, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) (2012-2015) and dean Faculty of Paediatrics, CPSP (2017-to date) He has over 100 research publications in peer-reviewed journals and >80 presentations as invited speaker all over the world. He has co-authored two books and written 8 book chapters. He has been the chairperson Paediatric Cardiology, Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology and secretary Asia Pacific Society of Paediatric Cardiology (1999-2003).
