Matthew Carson

Postgraduate researcher at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Queen’s University Belfast. My current research focuses on exploring the prevalence and impact of Cardiac Cachexia (CC) on advanced heart failure patients. Cachexia is an understudied and poorly understood syndrome, particularly CC, with this project aiming to address these gaps in our collective knowledge. Preliminary findings (both quantitative and qualitative) show that CC has a significant physical and psychosocial impact.
