I'm working in the AMC as a neurologist, and the focus of my clinical activities and research is neurological infectious diseases, including bacterial meningitis, encephalitis and neuroborreliosis. We perform translational research projects on bacterial meningitis in which we start with clinical and genetic data from patients included in our nationwide cohort studie (n>2400), subsequently study the pathophysiology in animal models and finally go back to the patient to test new therapies.
