Modern computer science deals with one universal problem: can we use our limited resources to achieve unlimited results? Machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval try to solve this issue attacking it from different angles and with different techniques, either focusing on the exposing the hidden information or replicating unconsciously. These the disciplines that tackle the problem at its root: information gathering. Let us exploit them for a better understanding of who we are, what we want and how to achieve it. I'm a data-intrigued computer scientist focused on information retrieval, data mining and machine learning, currently studying at Universita di Pisa.
