Max Mergeay

As a retired scientist, I am still interested in the genomics of environmental bacteria, especially betaproteobacteria (genus Cupriavidus/Ralstonia) resistant to heavy metals but also of bacteria that could be used for life support in spaceflights or in planetary stations. We also try to better evaluate and understand the diversity of mobile genetic elements and their accessory genes (resistance, stress responses, catabolic and other metabolic properties).
