Bio
Maxim Goryachev received the Ph.D. degree from Université de Franche-Comté, working with the Time and Frequency Department, FEMTO-ST Institute, Besançon, France, where he investigated ultra-high-quality factor acoustic resonators and their applications to frequency control and metrology.
Since 2012, he became a part of the Quantum Metrology and Dark Matter Group, The University of Western Australia, Crawley, WA, Australia. He is currently the Chief Investigator of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems and the Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics, working on quantum applications of very high-Q systems, spins in solids, and searches for new physics. His research interests include low-noise metrology, frequency stability, nonlinear dynamics, low-temperature electronics, low-noise precision measurements, and tests of fundamental physics.
Dr. Goryachev was a co-recipient of the 2018 EFTF Young Scientist Award presented by the European Frequency and Time Forum and the National Measurement Institute Prize for outstanding achievements in measurement research and excellence in practical measurements presented by the National Measurement Institute.
