Internationally recognized for his research and leadership in exercise-heat stress, youth athletic health, and brain health, Dr. Bergeron co-chaired and is the lead author of the International Olympic Committee Consensus on Youth Athletic Development. He is a Fellow and past Trustee of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), served a 4-year term on the National Federation of State High School Associations Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, and served two years as Heat, Hydration and Research Advisor to Major League Soccer (MLS). He is also on the Medical Advisory Committee for Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. and the Academic Advisory Board for the International Olympic Committee post-graduate Diploma Program in Sports Medicine. Dr. Bergeron served on the Society for Brain Mapping & Therapeutics 2018 Scientific Committee for the 15th Annual World Brain Mapping Congress. He also serves on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism and Journal of Athletic Training. Dr. Bergeron is Clinical and Scientific Advisor to the WTA Women’s Tennis Association professional tour medical services and Performance Health.
